Carl has been in construction for 34 years. He has been part of the team at Bob Grant Construction, Inc. since 1988. In 1972 he started work in the construction trade for Sweringer Construction in Virden, Illinois. He began learning the trade as a laborer and quickly moved up to be a framer. In 1975, Carl moved to Corvallis, Oregon, and went to work for Terway Developement, Inc., as an equipment operator, estimator, and scheduler in the housing market for four years. He worked in the remodeling and framing trade from 1979 to 1988. Carl is experienced in all phases of construction. For the last 19 years the majority of his work has been in commercial and industrial construction. He came up through the ranks from carpenter to job foreman to estimator to project manager. Carl is married and has two grown children and two grandchildren. He and his wife, Debbie, reside in Corvallis. Carl’s current job takes him into downtown Corvallis where he is currently working on commercial remodels.
